Ten Directions Intensive Rheidol Valley, Wales
IMAGE, IDENTITY AND NATURE
What do you see when you look at nature? Do we approach wild places with preconceptions which colour our view? Do we see ourselves reflected in our surroundings? Do we also find ourselves in new ways through encountering nature? Can we deepen appreciation and widen our perspectives by stepping outside the familiar? This five day intensive, set in the beautiful wooded Rheidol Valley near Aberystwyth in West Wales, we will explore ways of working therapeutically in nature and in particular we will explore the theme of identity and the conditioned sense of self. This group event will particularly focus on working with the natural world to discover personal meaning and collective experiencing. Drawing on the ten directions model we will spend time in a variety of different locations in and around the valley: woodland, rivers, beaches and hills and will look at how these can inspire us to therapeutic work. The intensive centres on a solo experience in which the themes of the five day programme can be explored through individual encounter with nature. a potentially transformative experience, this group is both an important part of the Ten Directions training and an opportunity for personal growth.
