Tariki Trust is a UK registered charity, with a board of trustees. If you have any concerns about any aspect of Tariki's activities, Tariki trstees are there to helps you. You can view Tariki Trust's policy documents including safeguarding, complaints procedures and other general guidelines which govern our work on this site.
As a charity, Tariki does not receive any grants from government or other sources, but generates income through running courses and offering events and psychotherapy to support its work. Our charitable work includes:
- Buddhist events and a maintaining a practice centre which is a place of refuge and remembrance for many
- a weekly meditation group, study group and mindfulness classes
- chaplaincy in hospitals and educational settings in Leicester
- a venue for events and classes
- organic gardening and opportunities for therapeutic gardening
- provision of low cost or free support and training events in the locality
- contributing to the development of theory and practice in Buddhist psychology through writing and conference presentations
- supporting new writing on related topics
- working for the development of Buddhist chaplaincy in the UK
- offering on-line programmes and retreats
- holding forums for those interested in Buddhism and psychotherapy
- developing environmentally based programmes
- sharing in inter-faith dialogue
Most of our work is done on a limited budget. We draw heavily on volunteers and no one is salaried. If you would like to support our work, please think about making a donation, which can be gift aided to us.
Tariki Trustees meet regularly to review the work of the trust, approve its financial management, oversee its charitable duties and support its development in line with the objects of its constitution.
